Prince John’s soldiers are looking for a man of science, Albertus, who is being charged with treason. He possesses the plans for a mystical trick of science that can give a huge edge to whomever has those plans. Robin unknowingly guides Albertus into a trap laid by the Sheriff of Nottingham. However, Albertus no longer has his calculations for this potential weapon. The Sheriff and his men will stop at nothing to get the plans even if it means to exercise torture methods but they would have to get Albertus to Nottingham castle first.
Personal Synopsis
The Scientist gives us a glimpse into a pre-science awareness time when simple chemical combinations and optics were seen as witchcraft and certainly feared by those whom did not understand it. This tale of a scientist and scholar who found that a manipulation of the heat from the sun could create fire and even worse a weapon of fiery destruction. A good episode to watch with a modernizing twist for the forests of medieval England.
