Villagers are going about their day when a group of soldiers come in and take the young men from the village. Ellen from the village seeks help from Sir Lancelot after King Meliot takes the young men of the village to sell them as slaves. The people of Cheddar have a cave to age their cheese but it may hold much more riches. Lancelot has an idea about how to get the men back into their village. Ellen is taken captive when she tried to bring food to some of the men. Come to find that jewels can be found in the caves and Sir Lancelot uses this as bait for King Merliot. Greed will always bring out the crooks.
Personal Synopsis
The Maid of Somerset is set oddly enough in the village of cheddar. This story is a typical one of greed by the land owner devising ways to make more money and using the leverage of ownership to wield his power.
