Department S Episode 7: Handicap Dead

It’s Colindale Golf course and a professional golfer has just been disqualified for not turning up to his tee and it turns out hes dead. Local police are no match to the complex case, so Department S is put on the job.  By the time Stewart and Annebelle gets on the case the dead golfers friend, Eddie, is missing. If Jason could pull himself away from the book he is writing, he may have the incite Stewart and Annebelle are desperately missing. Stewart finds himself roughed up when tracing Eddie and ultimately is too late to find him. With nothing to go on but a casino chip, Department S is on the trail of the killers and the organization behind it. An underground casino matching the chip is found by Annabelle and within is a familiar face(s). The case is in full swing and with full reason to golf with a handicap.

Personal Synopsis

One of the first things i noticed about this episode was that I really thought the thugs, played by Dudley Sutton and Norman Eshley, were amazing characters. You can feel the eerie unease while they jovially commit their crimes. The story of a dead sports star that is somehow tied up with a casino or a gambling connection has been done many times before, however its easy to endure this episode simply for the hollywood punch thrown by Jason at the climax of this story.
